Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the BlackJackal mobile application and any related content, features, and services (collectively, the "App"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. What BlackJackal Is

BlackJackal is an educational strategy-training tool for the game of blackjack. It provides practice modes, lessons, expected-value (EV) coaching, and progress tracking. The App is intended solely for entertainment and educational purposes.

BlackJackal is not a gambling product. It does not offer real-money wagering, betting, cash prizes, or any opportunity to win or lose money or anything of value. No real currency is wagered within the App, and in-app practice "units" or EV figures are illustrative measures of strategy quality only.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction, or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian, to use the App. By using the App you represent that you meet these requirements.

3. License

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the App on devices you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works from the App except as permitted by law.

4. Purchases & the Lifetime Upgrade

The App is free to use and includes all practice modes, subject to a daily limit of training hands. You may purchase a one-time, lifetime upgrade that removes the daily limit and unlocks unlimited hands. This is a one-time purchase, not a recurring subscription.

All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store and are subject to Apple's payment terms. Refunds and billing are handled by Apple in accordance with their policies. We do not collect or store your payment-card information.

5. No Guarantee of Results

BlackJackal teaches strategy concepts and expected-value reasoning. Expected value describes long-run averages under stated rules and assumptions; it does not predict the outcome of any individual hand or session. Real-world games involve variance, differing house rules, and other factors. We make no guarantee that using the App will produce any particular result in any real or simulated game, and nothing in the App is financial advice or an inducement to gamble.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the App in any unlawful manner, interfere with its operation, attempt to gain unauthorized access to any systems, or use it to facilitate illegal gambling. You are responsible for complying with all laws applicable to you, including any laws regarding gambling in your jurisdiction.

7. Intellectual Property

The App, including its text, lessons, design, graphics, and software, is owned by BlackJackal and its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. All rights not expressly granted to you are reserved.

8. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BlackJackal and its affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us, if any, for the App.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device.
